Semarang Prosecutor's Office Auctions Mercedes-Benz From Money Laundering In Drug Cases

SEMARANG - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Semarang City, Central Java is auctioning off a Mercedes Benz E-260 which is the result of a money laundering crime (TPPU) in a drug case that has permanent legal force.

Head of the Semarang City Kejari Evidence and Rampasan Management Section Eviyawati said the car being auctioned was the result of a booty based on a court decision.

"It is auctioned through the Semarang State Wealth and Auction Service Office (KPKNL)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 15.

According to him, the car has been sold through an auction for IDR 105 million.

He said the proceeds from the sale of the car were then deposited into the state treasury.

Apart from the Mercedes-Benz, he said, there were nine other vehicles, in the form of cars and motorbikes that were also auctioned.

These vehicles are evidence of various criminal acts whose cases have permanent legal force.

He ensured that the condition of the vehicle being auctioned was in good condition because it received treatment while it was stored in the Semarang State Confiscated Object Storage House (Rupbasan).

Vehicles that have not been sold at this auction will again be offered at the upcoming auction.
