Vice President Ma'ruf Visits China To Expand Indonesia's Halal Products
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin left for China to make a series of work visits including to expand Indonesia's halal products. The vice president is scheduled to visit three cities, namely Fuzhou, Nanning and Shanghai.
"This morning, the Vice President will make a visit to China within a few days," said Vice President Masduki Baidlowi in his statement quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 14.
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin and a limited entourage took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang to Fuzhou Changle International Airport, Fuzhou, Fujian, China at 09.00 WIB using the Garuda Indonesia Aircraft (GIA-2).
The vice president is scheduled to visit three cities, namely Fuzhou, Nanning and Shanghai.
In Fuzhou, Fujian Province, the Vice President will hold several meetings, including meeting with the Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, the Fujian Provincial Committee/Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress, Zhou Zuyi. This is a previous reply meeting, Zhou Zuyi also met the Vice President at the Vice President's Palace on May 9, 2023.
"The vice president once received a group of leaders from the Chinese Communist Party for Fujian Province, when he came to Jakarta. So this time the vice president will visit there some kind of replying to the visit (of the party)," said Enter.
In addition to having a meeting with Zhou Zuyi, the Vice President will also meet with businessmen Fujian who are engaged in the halal sector, such as food businesses for marine products, drinks, and logistics for frozen food supply chains.
"This is very important because indeed Indonesia aspires to be the country that produces the largest halal goods in the world. So far, Indonesia has only been a user, it will become a producer. In this context, the Vice President meets with halal entrepreneurs in Fujian Province," added Masduki.
After completing his work agenda in Fuzhou, the Vice President then moved to Nanning City, Guangxi Autonomous Region to make a soft call with the Prime Minister (PM) of China, Li Qiang, and also met with the Governor of the Autonomous Region of Guangxi Zhuang, Lan Tianli.
Then on Sunday morning (17/9), the Vice President will attend the opening ceremony of the 2023 China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and 20th China-ASEAN Business Investment Summit at Osmanthus Hall, the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC).
"So this is a meeting of entrepreneurs from both ASEAN and from China to meet there. This is a meeting that is also expected (will) give birth to many agreements between Chinese entrepreneurs and Indonesian businessmen," he explained.
Not only present, on this occasion the Vice President will also deliver a speech to delegates and businessmen from ASEAN and China countries.
"So this speech is a substance that is related to the relationship between ASEAN, especially Indonesia and China, related to business," explained Masduki.
In addition, Masduki added that after attending and delivering a speech at the opening of the CAEXPO 2023, the Vice President will also visit and inaugurate the Opening of the City of Charts of Indonesia Pavilion at the B2 Pavilion and the Indonesian Commodity Pavilion at the D15 Pavilion, NICEC. PM Li Qiang is also planned to attend this event.
"There is also an active government where we will carry out a kind of expo, open a pavilion. So there is a kind of 'City of Charms Indonesia Park', hopefully it will be successful there and the Vice President will attend and open the event at the pavilion," he said.
Ending the series of events at Nanning on Sunday afternoon, the Vice President will conduct Joint Interviews with Chinese media, including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group, China Daily, China News Service and CRI Online, Guangxi Daily, Guangxi Radio and Television, Nanning Daily, and Nanning Radio and Television.
After that, the Vice President then headed to Shanghai to visit the Representative Office of the MUI Food, Medicine and Cosmetic Studies Agency (LPPOM) in Shanghai Al Amin Co. Ltd. In that place, the Vice President will hold a meeting with the MUI LPPOM ranks and Shanghai Officials Al Amin Co. Ltd.
More than that, in Shanghai the Vice President is also scheduled to receive an honorary visit from the Shanghai Regional Government and hold a meeting with Shanghai businessmen engaged in the halal sector.
"In Shanghai, the Vice President will also meet entrepreneurs who are engaged in the halal industry, which they have been actively collaborating with LPPOM MUI. Alhamdulillah, until now they are very active and the news from LPPOM MUI friends, their business volume is very large and getting bigger," said the spokesman.
Through this meeting with halal industry entrepreneurs in Shanghai, according to Masduki, the Vice President will invite them not only to try and invest in China but also in Indonesia.

"The vice president hopes that they invest in Indonesia. Thus, the ideals as previously said, Indonesia as the largest halal country in the world can be achieved," said Masduki.
Ending his working visit agenda in China, the Vice President is scheduled to attend the National Dialogue with Indonesian diaspora in Shanghai. On Tuesday at around 14.00 local time, the Vice President and his entourage will return to Jakarta.
