Be Careful The Mode Of Fraud Through Fake Call Centers

Recently, a fake call center has been found which is claimed by a fraudster as Danamon's call center. Fraudsters place false information about Danamon's call center on Google Maps to trick potential victims who want to search for Danamon branch addresses and contactable phone numbers.
The victim also contacted the fake call center and was directed by the fraudster to continue the conversation via WhatsApp chat. After that, the fraudster sends a file.apk which when clicked gives access to customer data at the bank so that the fraudster can free up the victim's savings balance.
"Along with the development of technology and digitalization, banking crimes are also increasingly prevalent with increasingly diverse modes. Therefore, Danamon appealed to all customers and the public to protect personal data by always being careful and vigilant, and not carelessly submitting information related to personal data to parties who cannot be proven to be true," appealed to Service Quality & Contact Center Head, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, Kristiani Siwi, in a statement, Tuesday, September 12.
"Regarding the fraud mode using this fake call center, customers and the public are expected to find and confirm the call center number of a company in a trusted source, such as Call 108, or other official media including the company's official website. It is also important to note that Customers do not carelessly click on suspicious files sent via e-mail, WhatsApp, or SMS," he added.
