Vice President Reminds Political Parties To Maintain Coolness Ahead Of The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin reminded political parties to continue to maintain coolness ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.

This was conveyed by the Vice President in his remarks while attending the 'INDONESIA 12AYA' Peak Night, Kompas TV's 12th Birthday, in Jakarta, Monday, September 11.

"I advise political parties to always bring coolness ahead of the election," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA.

He said all stages towards elections should always be carried out in a peaceful situation, so that people can watch and enjoy the democratic process that is fun and wrapped in national unity.

On the other hand, the Vice President also reminded election organizers and all elements of the bureaucracy and the TNI and Polri to continue to maintain their neutrality in the election.

Ma'ruf Amin asked all parties to ensure that there is no partiality and fraud that can reduce the credibility and accountability of the General Election.

"If there are lawsuits and the like, they should be processed through a mechanism in accordance with the applicable laws," he said.

The Vice President believes that election organizers, the General Election Commission (KPU) and the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) at the central and regional levels, will continue to work hard to complete every stage of the election, both presidential, legislative, and regional elections.

Meanwhile, for members of the press, the Vice President asked to continue to oversee the process and stages of the election through the disbursement of valid, fresh, and actual information, so that the 2024 General Election can run peacefully and democratically.
