Billie Eilish And Peter Gabriel Join The Coalition For Music Against Weapons Violence
JAKARTA - Billie Eilish and Peter Gabriel join a new coalition of music to tackle gun violence.
Artist For Action To Prevent Gun Violence, which also features Sheryl Crow and Nile Rodgers, describes itself as a non-political' organization calling on Americans to volunteer and choose to eradicate gun violence in the country.
Eilish said in a statement: "As an artist community, we need to unite to make reasonable changes."
Gabriel added: This must be stopped. So many unnecessary deaths. So much suffering. It requires a little common sense.
Several other music figures who took part in this organization includewainwright, Pixies, Sofi Tukker, and Bush, where the latter will play the organization's launch event in New York on September 22.
Gavin Rossdale of Bush said: "As a father, I am shocked by the violence in America, and as a musician, I am lucky enough to take a stand against him."

Artist For Action To Prevent Gun Violence is the idea of musician Mark Barden, whose son was killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2021.
"After my son Daniel was killed at Sandy Hook's elementary school, I postponed my career as a professional guitarist to devote myself to prevent gun violence," he said in a statement.
