China Open 2023: Gregoria And Putri KW Are Expected To Appear As In The World Championships
JAKARTA - PBSI women's singles coach, Indra Widjaja, hopes that his two foster children will be able to show their best game at the 2023 China Open, September 5-10.
In the China Open 2023 competition, the Indonesian women's singles sent two representatives. They are Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani.
Indra hopes that the performance of the two players can be the same as when appearing at the 2023 Badminton World Championships, some time ago.
"Putri will meet Akane (Yamaguchi) directly from Japan, because from looking at the ranking side, the opportunity to meet the seed must be in the first round. But my hope for Putri can be as maximum as she showed against He Bing Jiao (China) at the World Championship yesterday," said Indra.
"For Gregoria, her knee is still tapping but actually not too much of a problem. I hope she can be bolder to maximize everything in the match later, continue to be consistent with the best game and not be influenced by small things that can be annoying," he continued.
