12 Vehicles Confiscated From Former Papuan DPRD Members Burned, Jayapura Police Conduct Investigation
PAPUA - Jayapura City Police cooperated with the Papua Police Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) to investigate the fire of 12 vehicles in the courtyard of the Papua DPRD in Jayapura, Wednesday, August 23 in the morning.The 12 vehicles that burned were vehicles confiscated from former members of the Papuan DPRD.Jayapura City Police Chief Kombes Victor Mackbon said that until now the cause of the fire that scorched 12 cars in the parking lot of the Papua DPRD building."The case is still being investigated by the Jayapura City Police Criminal Investigation Unit investigators to ascertain the origin of the fire and how much it cost," he said in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, August 23.Three security officers on duty at the people's representative building located on Jalan Sam Ratulangi Jayapura have been questioned by investigators."The three witnesses who were questioned were security officers. Currently, the TKP has been given a police line," said Mackbon.The Head of the Jayapura City Fire Department, Veronika, explained that information related to the fire in the Papua DPRD area was known at around 03.25 WIT and immediately followed up by deploying firefighters.Officers had difficulty entering the area because the fence was locked, making it difficult to enter and extinguish the fire."The fire quickly burned 12 parked cars and the fire was extinguished at around 04.10 WIT after two watercanon units belonging to the Jayapura City Government were deployed," said Veronika.
