Now Prabowo Faces The Challenge Of Choosing A Vice Presidential Candidate In The Fat Coalition
Political observer Trunojoyo Madura University Surokim Abdussalam said that Prabowo Subianto's future presidential candidate would face challenges in determining the candidate for vice president after joining the Golkar Party and the National Mandate Party (PAN) in the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR).
"The problems in the Gerinda coalition each proposed their presidential candidates, PAN brought Mr. Erick, Golkar brought Mr. Airlangga Hartarto, and PKB from the start proposed Cak Imin or Muhaimin Iskandar," said Surokim as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15.
Prabowo Subianto, said Surokim, must be able to reduce the egos of each party so that the internal conditions of the KKIR can be conducive and do not cause polemics ahead of the election of the head of state.
Because, he said, the three parties in the KKIR both have the desire to install their respective figures as vice presidents.
"Is Mr. Airlangga (Chairman of Golkar) sincere? Cak Imin (Chairman of PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar) who from the beginning became vice president will also be sincere? It's not easy because both have passion," he said.
According to him, Prabowo Subianto will need time to convince the coalition party regarding the determination of the candidate for vice president who will accompany him to run in the 2024 presidential election.
"Who will be promoted as vice president is not easy. Pak Prabowo has the support, but the context of choosing vice president is also good," he said.

Not only that, Prabowo also still has to look at the track records of each prospective vice presidential candidate proposed by each party in the KKIR.
"Seeing the composition of coalitions like this, figures who can finally be accepted by all parties and by all coalitions who have the potential to be accepted and advanced, is not easy," said Surokim.
