PUPR Offers Public Space Management At Sukamahi Dam To Private
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) offers public space management in the Sukamahi Dam area, Bogor, West Java to private investors.
"Essentially, so that the Sukamahi Dam does not function for flood control but also has a public function, and it is allowed as long as it does not interfere with its main function as a dam. The management of public facilities in Sukamahi Dam is offered to investors interested in mutual benefits between the private sector and the government," said PUPR Ministry Spokesperson Endra S Atmawidjaja in Sukamahi, Bogor Regency, West Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.
Endra said the public spaces were built and utilized using used stockpile land, batching plants, storage of heavy equipment, materials, and land acquisition remains during the construction of the dam.
The management of Sukamahi Dam is still carried out by the Ministry of PUPR. Meanwhile, public spaces in the dam area such as marketplaces, six green houses, hotels, fish ponds, and parks are offered to the private sector.
For marketplaces in the Sukamahi Dam area, he said, in the future they can be used to sell vegetables and green houses by inviting the community around the dam.
"The offer process is still being carried out by the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Housing Financing (DJPI) of the Ministry of PUPR and there are several investors who are interested, we will see who provides the good proposal so that we will consider it," said Endra.

Endra said that the management of public facilities in the Sukamahi Dam area has the potential to become non-tax state revenue (PNBP).
The Sukamahi Dam which has the concept of a dry dam ("dry dam") has officially operated to reduce flooding around the Ciliwung River.
"The Sukamahi Dam is not only a flood control for the capital city of Jakarta, but also the development of ecotourism in the Puncak Bogor area by utilizing potential natural resources," he said.
