Police Burn Illegal Gold Miners In Kuantan Singingi

KUANSING - The Singingi Hilir Sector Police, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau carried out an operation to control Unlicensed Gold Miners (PETI) in the company's area. The police found an illegal raft that was immediately burned.

Singingi Hilir Police Chief AKP Agus Susanto, said a number of his personnel carried out operations in the oil palm plantation area of PT Wanasari Nusantara in Sungai Buluh Village. The reason is that there are suspected illegal gold mining activities.

"The raft, allegedly used by unscrupulous persons for illegal businesses, took gold by breaking the rules and not licensed. Finally, the raft was burned by the team so that it would no longer operate," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

The raid was led directly by AKP Agus accompanied by two personnel and seven security BDP PT. Wanasari. During the joint raid, the joint team found the dompeng raft not operating.

Singingi Hilir Police Chief requested that all parties supervise, report if there are indications of illegal business anywhere in the jurisdiction of the Sector Police.

The goal is that illegal activities can be minimized optimally, because they have a very broad impact. In addition, Singingi Hilir Police Chief firmly stated that whoever the perpetrators, collectors, capital owners in PETI activities will also be dealt with firmly according to the law.

Previously, on Thursday (3/8) last week in Indragiri Hulu, a PETI raid was also carried out in the local area. The raid team found four locations of PETI from Lubuk Sitarak Village, Rakit Kulim District and Pasir Berangin, Kelayang District.

The joint operation team with village officials witnessed by local residents then also destroyed four rafts and illegal gold mining equipment by burning charred miners' equipment.

By destroying the raft and all its equipment, the owner and illegal business actor will no longer be able to operate in the area.
