Wina Becomes The Most Habitable City In 2023, Frankfurt, Amsterdam And London Are Not In The Top 10

Vienna, Austria was again named the most habitable city in the world by 2023, when a number of major European cities were thrown from the top 10.

Anyone who has visited one of the top ten cities in the Economic annual Global Life Feasibility Index may be able to feel it.

The 2023 list provides insight into a better place to live this year and includes cities from each continent. In recent years, there have been several cities that are included in the list of the top 10. How were the best cities chosen?

When compiling the Global Digensity Index, the consideration is not only the comfortable atmosphere that distinguishes the cities chosen. The overall score - from 100 - is determined by examining many factors, including the quality of health services, education, culture, infrastructure and so on.

Many of the 173 cities studied as part of this report experienced an increase in scores, after the last COVID-19 restrictions were relaxed and life returned to the way it was before the pandemic.

The average index score across the city (excluding Kyiv) surveyed now stands at 76.2 out of 100, up from 73.2 a year ago, the highest score in 15 years for an initial list of 140 cities compared.

One thing that is striking is that more and more cities in Europe have experienced a decline in rankings. This is partly due to the declining instability score, with several cities feeling the impact of Ukraine's war.

Frankfurt and Amsterdam are both out of the top 10, having previously occupied the 7th and 9th positions in 2022. Cities in the UK are among the cities in Europe that have experienced the most significant decline.

Edinburgh, which went into the top 50 for the first time last year and took 35th place, dropped to 58th position in 2023. Likewise, London (ranked 34th in 2022) and Manchester (ranked 32 years ago) both experienced poor scores this year, down 12 and 16 rankings, respectively.

On a global scale, the overall regional score has increased compared to the score achieved in 2022. Despite a number of cities experiencing a decline, Western Europe maintained its polling position, increasing its score from 91.4 years ago to 92.3 this year.

The largest increase occurred in the Asia-Pacific region which reached a score of 73.5, making a recordable increase from last year's figure of 69.1. In addition, eight of the 10 cities that experienced a major increase came from this area. Most famous Welllington in New Zealand, jumped 35 places and occupied 23rd place.

Wina maintains her crown as the world's most habitable city for. The Austrian capital has dominated the rankings in the last 10 surveys, ranking first in eight surveys.

The report notes that Vienna continues to offer "unmatched combinations of stability, good infrastructure, strong education, and health services, as well as a lot of culture and entertainment". The only drawback is the lack of major sporting events.
