The Commander In Chief Affirms That The TNI Remains In Accordance With The Law, The Handling Of The Kabasarnas Case Is Guaranteed To Be Transparent
TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono emphasized that he would not protect Kabasarnas and his subordinates who were suspects in the procurement bribery case at Basarnas.
"The TNI will not protect what is wrong. The person concerned has been named a suspect and since yesterday I have signed for detention and it has been carried out," said the TNI Commander as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.
"I am always subject to the law. Maybe a lot of things are circulating outside of us intervening in this case. We do not intervene in it. Of course we enforce the law politely. There is already a law that regulates it, yes, of course we must obey and obey the law," he said.
As stated by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, he continued, the TNI was subject to a Military Court in accordance with Law Number 31 of 1997.

The TNI Commander said that the public could follow the investigation (of the alleged bribery case in Basarnas).
"The TNI remains subject to the law and I will not protect it. If it is wrong, it must be sanctioned, and if it excels, we will give awards," he said.
