It Took 2 Days To Evacuate KM Samudra Wani 2 Which Transported 400 Tons Of Building Materials But Ran Aground In Babel

South Bangka Polairud managed to evacuate the Wani 2 Ocean Motorboat (KM) which ran aground in the waters of Tanjung Merun Lepar Pongok.

"KM Samudra Wani 2 departed from Sunda Kelapa Port, Jakarta to Natuna, Riau Islands, ran aground on Saturday (July 29) and today it has been successfully evacuated," said South Bangka Police Head Iptu Edy Suaidi in Toboali, South Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel), Monday 31 July, confiscated by Antara.

KM Samudra 2 belonging to PT Karimun Nahari Sejahtera is known to transport 400 tons of building materials and basic necessities.

On its way, the ship was hit by high waves and there was also a leak in the hull so that the captain of the ship took the decision to direct the ship to the nearest island until it ran aground in the Tanjung Merun Sea, Lepar Pongok.

"We together with the Sadai Navy post evacuated the ship and helped the crew to be rescued, all of them were rescued," said Edy.

He said all the condition of the crew was in good health and was already at the Polairud Post for questioning.

"All crew members are safe and we are currently checking building materials and basic necessities on board," he said.

Edy said that apart from rescuing the crew, his party also manifested items carried out on the ship.

"Earlier we did the manifest and checked the condition of the goods in the ship to adjust the data from the ship," he said.

He explained that he is currently coordinating with ship owners and securing the location of the incident.

"We continue to coordinate with ship owners and agents in Sadai and carry out security at the location of the incident of the ship that ran aground," he said.
