JAKARTA - Heavy obstacles will be faced by the Indonesian men's volleyball national team in the preliminary round of the 2023 Asian Games group Hangzhou, 19-26 September. The Red and White team had to face strong opponents in Group F.
Based on the draw results, Indonesia will compete with Japan, the Philippines and Afghanistan. This group is the only one filled with four countries, while from Group A to E only three participants are filled.
It is planned that every volleyball match will be held at the Hangzhou Gymnasium, Hangzhou, China.
Before appearing at the 2022 Asian Games on September 19, the Indonesian national team is scheduled to play a number of tournaments, as reported by Antara, Friday, July 28.
Among them is the second round of the SEA V League which will take place on July 28 and the AVC Challenge Cup Tehran, Iran 2023 which will take place from August 18 to 26.
The men's volleyball manager of the Indonesian national team, Loudry Maspaitella, admitted that he did not know the strength of Japan participating in the 2022 Asian Games.
However, if Japan sends a team that also competes in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) as the top team in third place in the world volleyball, it will certainly increase the level of group F competition so tightly.
Loudry Maspaitella believes the Philippine national team will field their best squad to compete in the 2022 Asian Games this time.
However, Loudry gave a statement, for the Afghan team, the Indonesian national team did not have enough references to their strength.
