Mayor Gibran Says for Revitalization of the Surakarta Palace Starting September 2023
CENTRAL JAVA - Surakarta Mayor (Walkot) Gibran Rakabuming Raka said the revitalization of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunanan Palace will begin in September-October 2023 following the preparations that have been made.
"Wis is in order (it's finished)," he said after holding a preparatory meeting for the arrangement of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunanan Palace area with the palace in Solo, Central Java, Wednesday, July 26, as reported by Antara.
He said the construction schedule was in accordance with the initial plan, which started around September-October.
"All that remains is to complete the non-technical work. It has been clear from the past, it has been certain from the past, so it is already on schedule (according to schedule)," he said.
He said that coordination had also been carried out with Pakubuwono XIII as the King of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Sunanate Palace.
On the same occasion, the Crown Prince of the Keraton Surakarta KPH Purboyo said that the meeting discussed the construction of the palace which is a cultural heritage building.
"There must be a complete study and not change the philosophical elements of the past. For example, several shophouses that did not exist now suddenly exist, maybe they will be removed and returned to the way they were before," he said.

He said that so far the palace is in accordance with the concept offered by the government. Henceforth, the auction will be held as soon as possible.
"We follow the instructions of Mr. Mayor (Gibran). There are no obstacles. Even if there are, we don't need to pay attention to them, we stick to how to make the palace look good," he said.
He ensured that the revitalization would have a positive impact on all parties and could be felt by the people of Solo.
"People often pass by the square, this has become an icon of Solo. The concept is made pedestrian, automatically people can enjoy it, sitting relaxed there," he said.
