Like Breaking Up, Nyck De Vries Takes A Moment Of Break From Social Media After Being Expelled By AlphaTauri F1: Of Course It Hurts
JAKARTA - The bitter pill must be accepted by the Dutch racer, Nyck de Vries. He had to give up his position in the AlphaTauri F1 team.
The team, which is affiliated with Red Bull Racing, kicked De Vries and gave it to Daniel Ricciardo.
After the decision, De Vries was clearly devastated. Shortly after the team's decision was made, the rider announced to take a break from the world of racing and social media.
"A short note from me. After a recent incident, I decided to take my own time off social media, and I will continue to do that (while this time)," said De Vries, quoted from the official Formula 1 website via Antara, Thursday, July 20.
"I want to thank Red Bull and Scuderia AlphaTauri for the opportunity to make my dreams come true. Of course it hurts that the F1 opportunity I dreamed of so long ended before time," he continued.
De Vries' joining into the main riders' grid came after he impressed in his surprise replacement performance with Williams at the Italian GP last year by finishing ninth.

However, the former Formula 2 champion actually struggled to match the performance of his AlphaTauri team-mate, Yuki Tsunoda. He failed to score points in one of the 10 opening races this year.
"But, for me, (mean) life is not a matter of purpose, life is a journey, and sometimes we have to take a difficult path to get where we want it to be," said De Vries.
"I am grateful for our special life as a team, proud of our journey, and grateful for my family. This is just another experience, I will continue (living) and look forward to the next chapter," he added.
He also thanked all the support from his fans and those closest to him who continued to encourage him to move forward and not get down in sadness.
