JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas said the proposed Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri holiday for three days was intended so that people had quality holidays with their families.
"So, the SKB (joint decree) is currently being signed, as is the Presidential Decree," said Azwar Anas at the Vice Presidential Palace (Wapres), Jakarta, Tuesday, June 20, which was confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the proposed Eid al-Adha holiday from June 28-30, 2023 was not solely due to differences in the determination of Eid between the Government and Muhammadiyah religious community organizations (ormas), but also to create quality public holidays with families. increased.
"So, it's not just because there are two Eids on different days, but this is a holiday season for children, so the quality time of our ASN and also the Indonesian people is important to gather with family," he explained.
In addition, he said, the long Eid al-Adha 2023 holiday is expected to support economic growth in the regions.
"So, to encourage the quality of our families to improve, then also the economy moves to the regions, yes. So, for Wednesday and Friday it becomes a collective leave and Sunday it remains a national holiday," he said.
However, he said, this was still waiting for the issuance of Presidential Regulations. Even President Jokwi, said Azwar, really hopes that the economy in the regions can grow and develop with the long Eid holiday.
"And we are waiting for the SKB to be issued soon, once again this is just a proposal," he explained.

Meanwhile, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin stated that the Government would definitely adjust decisions related to holidays with differences in the determination of Eid al-Adha.
