In The Last 2 Days, 35 Hotspots Have Been Detected In East Kalimantan
SAMARINDA - The Balikpapan Station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected 35 hotspots spread across East Kalimantan (Kaltim), so all parties were advised to be vigilant and take care of each other so that new hotspots would not occur.
"A total of 35 hotspots were monitored last Sunday from 01.00 to 24.00 WITA," said the Coordinator for Data and Information at the Sultan Aji Meteorological Station Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan, Diyan Novrida, quoted by ANTARA Monday, June 12.
For this many hot spots, he appealed to all related parties and the wider community to remind each other, such as not throwing cigarette butts carelessly on land or in dry forests.
The distribution of 35 hotspots that have been observed has been informed to related parties, including the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in order to receive further action.
The day before, Saturday, June 10, his party also detected 16 hotspots in East Kalimantan spread across four areas, namely Balikpapan and Kutai Kartanegara with one each, East Kutai with 11 points, and Berau with three points.
Meanwhile, the 35 hotspots monitored throughout last Sunday, he said, were new hotspots that appeared in different locations with different coordinate points.
The 35 hotspots are spread across five districts, namely Paser, West Kutai, East Kutai, Kutai Kartanegara, and Berau Regency.
The details are that in West Kutai one point in Siluq Ngurai District, five points in Kutai Kartanegara are spread across three sub-districts, namely Kembang Janggut three points, Loak Kulu and Samboja one point each.

In East Kutai, 16 points were detected spread across nine sub-districts, namely Telen, Muara Wahau, Muara Ancalong, Long Mesat, Kaliorang, Batu Ampar, and North Sangatta sub-districts with one each, Kaubun and Kongbeng with two each, and Bengalon with five points.
"In Berau Regency, 10 hotspots were detected spread across five sub-districts, namely Mount Tabur da Sambaliung with two, Derawan Island and Tabalar with one each, Segah with four points, then Paser Regency with three hotspots, all of which are in Batu Engau District," said Diyan.
