A 20-year-old Youth Dies After Being Powered By A Tikus Trap In Sawah, Land Owner Becomes A Suspect
GROBOGAN - A man was found dead in the rice fields in Tungu Village, Godong District, Grobogan Regency. Police suspect the victim died from being electrocuted by a rice field owner to trap mice.
The victim was named Ilham Bayu Sugara (20), a young man from Pahesan Village, Godong District, Grobogan Regency. The victim was found lying on a rice field owned by Subandi (61), a resident of Tungu Village, Godong District, Grobogan Regency on Saturday morning, June 3.
Based on the results of an investigation conducted by the Grobogan Police, the police then named the owner of the rice field as a suspect. This was due to his negligence in installing electricity for rat traps on his rice fields which resulted in the victim's death.
"So that people are wise and use electricity as their designation, for example for water pumps to flow through rice fields. The use of electricity for rat traps is not allowed because it can endanger human lives," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol Iqbal Alqudusy in a written statement, Friday, June 9.

Regarding information from Subandi's family who did not accept the status of the rice field owner as a suspect by the police, his party confirmed that the handling of the case had been carried out according to procedures.
Regarding information that the victim previously experienced a commotion during a shadow puppet event in the local village on Thursday night, June 1, Iqbal said that the Grobogan Police were still conducting a more in-depth investigation.
"Currently, officers are still investigating. The determination of the suspect is based on the results of investigations and investigations carried out by officers including the results of the crime scene processing, victim identification, and witness examination," he said.
