President Zelensky Calls Russia Using Supplier Networks To Avoid Arms Sanctions
JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday Russia used a supplier network to evade international sanctions designed to prevent it from manufacturing missiles and other weapons.
In a video speech, President Zelensky said unnamed countries and companies helped Russia acquire technology with an emphasis on missile production.
It is known, Russia has launched hundreds of missiles against targets in Ukrainian territory since October last year.
"Unfortunately, terrorist countries managed to use world technology through a network of suppliers, successfully passing international sanctions," President Zelensky said.
Ukraine, added President Zelensky, is well aware of all Russia's efforts to evade sanctions and will seek to ensure, "no product from the free world in Russian missiles".
Earlier, a senior assistant to President Zelensky said in April that Ukrainian troops found more and more components of China in Russian weapons used in Ukraine.
