South Sulawesi Provincial Government Allocates IDR 17 Billion For The Toraja Axis Road Section
The South Sulawesi Provincial Government through the Office of Highways and Construction Development allocated a budget of IDR 17 billion to handle the construction of the Masuppu - Pinrang border road in Tana Toraja Regency.
"God willing, this year we will allocate IDR 17 billion for the construction of the Masuppu - Pinrang Boundary road in Tana Toraja Regency. We will handle it gradually," said South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.
With the pioneering of this road, it will open access connecting Pinrang Regency and Tana Toraja Regency through Simbuang-Mappak.
The isolated area in Simbuang was even visited by Andi Sudirman in 2019. At that time, he was still the Deputy Governor of South Sulawesi.
"We've visited and camped in Simbuang," he said.
He also asked the public to pray and support the smooth construction of this road. So that it is completed immediately and can be accessed by the community.
"We hope that the construction of this road will open isolated access, especially in Simbuang," he said.
It is known, this year, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government is also handling the construction of the Tuppu - balik - Pamulungan section - Tana Toraja Regency Boundary in Pinrang Regency. This road segment, connecting Pinrang - Tator through Simbuang - Mappak.

Road infrastructure improvement is one of the development priorities in South Sulawesi. The work on roads and bridges has been carried out by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government in stages, as well as several new projects starting this year.
One of them is on the Letta-Kariango road and bridge section, Pinrang Regency. The South Sulawesi Provincial Government has prepared budget financial assistance worth IDR 22.6 billion for the 2023 fiscal year.
The handling of roads and bridges is a priority program for the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman. Moreover, there was an incident of pregnant women who died on the road due to road access that four-wheeled vehicles could not pass.
