Cable Theft Activities Called Power Outage Triggers In Madura
PAMEKASAN - Manager of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara PLN (Persero) Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Pamekasan, East Java, Feri Asmoro, said the electricity network on Madura Island, which has often been out due to cable theft.
"This has happened in three locations, namely two locations in Sampang Regency and one location in Bangkalan Regency," Feri said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.
He explained that the theft of power lines in Sampang Regency occurred in the Ketapang and Sampang Customer Service Units (UPL). Meanwhile in Bangkalan Regency at UPL Blega.
"The type of cable stolen by an irresponsible citizen is in the form of a NYY 1x150 mm2 cable," he said.
Feri explained that the theft carried out by the residents not only turned off the electricity, but also caused a danger of electricity for the community around the location.
For this reason, his party appeals to the public to take care of each other and always coordinate with PLN and the authorities if they find suspicious activities around the PLN network.

"Therefore, we ask for public support, if you see suspicious behavior of officers and operational vehicles that do not use PLN's attributes or official identity, then you should ask the letter of assignment for the implementation of the work and identity. If the person cannot show both, then immediately report to the nearest PLN Office, call center 123 or the authorities," said Feri Asmoro.
Regarding the theft case, Feri admitted that he had reported it to the Sampang Police and the Blega Police and hoped that the perpetrators could be caught soon so that the public would not be harmed by the lights or the danger of electricity arising from the case.
