Developer Blackbird Interactive Delays Homeworld Launch 3 Until 2024

JAKARTA - Developer Blackbird Interactive and publisher Gearbox Publishing have announced that the release of the game Homeworld 3 will be postponed until 2024, from previously targeted releases in 2023.

"We are moving the launch of Homeworld 3 to February 2024. Our main goal is to provide a Homeworld experience that meets the standards set by its predecessor and deserves an extraordinary legacy from this series," the developer said in an announcement on Twitter.

Homeworld 3 was re-announced in 2019 through a crowdfunding campaign, and will resume production in June 2021. The latest information about the game was also seen in September last year through a gameplay trailer.

The change in the release schedule for Homeworld 3 is not the first time the game has been postponed. The developer initially scheduled to release Homeworld in Q4 2022 before being postponed until the first half of the 2023 release window which has now expired.

And now, developers are re-resigning the release of Homeworld 3 on the grounds that they need more time to polish their games.

"Homeworld 3 is preparing to be like that, but to fully realize that vision, we need more time to perfect and polish the game," added the developer.

"We really appreciate your enthusiasm and dedication to this game, and we are working hard to bring Homeworld 3 to you as soon as possible," the announcement concluded.
