KPU: Voice Letter Design Still Follows Open Election System
JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari said that the ballot design is still following the design of an open proportional system model ballot.
"The KPU has prepared a draft KPU regulation on election logistics or technical languages in its law, namely voting equipment and vote count at polling stations. Yes, there is a ballot letter, there is a form, we designed it to still use an election system proportional to the open candidate list," said Hasyim as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.
He explained that the ballot design contains a form design in which there is a party name, party serial number, party image, candidate name, and candidate serial number in each voter area in every ballot or form.
The Constitutional Court (MK) has finished holding a trial related to a lawsuit by the Election Law regarding an open or closed proportional electoral system. The Constitutional Court only has to hold a verdict trial.
Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Saldi Isra, dismissed accusations that the Constitutional Court panel of judges had postponed the decision on the election law lawsuit related to an open proportional system.
"We will immediately complete this request. So, don't be accused that the Constitutional Court will delay all kinds of things," said Saldi Isra in the Case Session Number 114/PUU-XX/2022, monitored from the YouTube channel of the Indonesian Constitutional Court, in Jakarta, Tuesday (23/5).
Saldi Isra stated that if there are parties who wish to submit objections, additional information, or other things, they can be conveyed together with conclusions that will be submitted to the panel of judges of the Constitutional Court.
"This needs affirmation, especially that allows additional time," said Saldi Isra.
Saldi Isra emphasized that the Case Session Number 114/PUU-XX/2022 which took place today is the last trial and the panel of judges will immediately take the verdict.
The next agenda is the submission of conclusions from each party to the Constitutional Court. The panel of judges has determined that the petitioner and related parties have submitted the conclusion at the latest to the Constitutional Court on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
"The submission of the conclusion is no later than Wednesday, please pay attention, May 31, 2023, 11.00 WIB," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman.
