Manchester City Three Times Leading Premier League Premier Champion, Gundogan: Extraordinary

JAKARTA - Manchester City confirmed the English Premier League title last weekend. Arsenal's defeat to Nottingham Forest and victory over Chelsea made City's points no longer overtaken.

This is the third consecutive Premier League title for City. Captain of The Citizens, Ilkay Gundogan feels this is something really extraordinary.

"Winning this trophy three times in a row and five times in six years is truly extraordinary. This quality and consistency help summarize what Manchester City is fighting for and ensure the club will continue to fight for success in the future," said Gundogan.

"Helping clubs win their third Premier League titles in a row is something very special. The Premier League is undoubtedly the most demanding and competitive league in the world to let everyone know about this achievement," he continued, as reported by the club's official website via Antara.

The Citizens before the match received a guard of honorarium from Chelsea's visitors for their title. Manchester City, who came down with the second-tier squad, successfully bowed the Blues 1-0 through Julian Alvarez's only goal.

"This squad is very talented and very special and captaining this season is an extraordinary privilege," said the German national team player.

Gundogan, who was the first purchase from coach Pep Guardiola's 2016 era, has now tasted five Premier League trophies since being redeemed from Borussia Dortmund.

Gundogan will have the opportunity to captain the Manchester City team, who will first lift the Champions League trophy if The Citizens can beat Inter Milan in the final in June.
