The Leaking Ship In The Waters Of East Halmahera, The Condition Of 20 Passengers Is Not Yet Known

TERNATE - The Ternate Search and Rescue Office, North Maluku (Malut) stated that a ship carrying 20 people suffered a leak while traveling from East Halmahera (Haltim) to North Halmahera.

"The condition of the 20 passengers on the ship is currently unknown, because the joint SAR Team from the Tobelo SAR Post Rescue Team, Tobelo KUPP and the TNI/Polri are still heading to the location of the leak," said Head of Ternate Basarnas Fathur Rahman, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 16.

He said that based on the Haltim BPBD report, the chronology of the incident was that today, Tuesday (16/5) at around 15.05 WIT, one ship with 20 passengers experienced a leak, precisely in the waters of Labi-labi Village, North Wasile while traveling from the village of East Halmahera to Tobelo with bad weather conditions around the location.

Fathur Rahman explained that after receiving the report, at 15.25 WIT, the Tobelo SAR Post Rescue Team moved to LKP to carry out the evacuation of the victim using KNP 404 KUPP Tobelo.

The ship carrying the kopra commodity is being assisted through the SAR team from the Tobelo SAR Post Rescue Team, Tobelo KUPP and TNI/Polri.

Meanwhile, previously the SAR team managed to find the crew of the Tugboat Pacific 19 named Nur Ilham Syah (23 years old) who sank at PT Wanatiara Persada Pier.

"The victim fell into the sea while moving a rope on a barge loaded with 4,000 Tons of Feronicles and on the third day, a joint SAR team continued to search," he said.

He stated that on the third day of the SAR operation, the Joint SAR Team conducted a search by dividing into 2 SRUs. SRU 1 using a Rubber boat carried out a search around the 4.63 Nm LKP.

SRU 2 Speedboat Polairud carried out a search south of the LKP covering an area of 8.15 Nm. Until the afternoon the search by the Joint SAR Team yielded results, the victim was found dead.
