Not Protecting Forests In Mukomuko, PT Anugerah Pratama Inspiration Sanctioned With Warning From KLHK

JAMBI - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry has given a warning to PT Anugerah Pratama Inspiration (API) because this company does not carry out its obligations, namely protecting and securing the forest within the location of its permit.Head of the Mukomuko Regency Forest Management Unit (KPH) Aprin Sihaloho said PT API was given a warning in addition to not protecting and securing forests and the absence of nursery and maintenance activities."We have received a copy of the warning letter against PT API from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry," he said in Mukomuko, Antara, Friday, May 12.Furthermore, he said, his agency will monitor the company's activities. PT API obtained a business license for the use of wood forest products in natural forests (IUPHHK-HA) covering an area of 41,988 hectares in the Air Rami Production Forest (HP) in this area.The Ministry of Environment and Forestry gave a warning to the company after previously a team from the ministry checked the location of the PT API business license.He said the company that received a business license for the use of wood forest products in the natural forest must comply with the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number: SK.385/Menlhk/Setjen/HPL.0/10/20202.He said that in the decision there was an obligation of companies to obtain IUPHHK-HA from the Minister of Environment and Forestry, one of which was to protect and secure the forests that were within the location of the permit.According to him, if the company does not carry out activities based on the decree, the company will be subject to sanctions for termination of service.He said the problems that occurred against PT API were the same as those at PT Bentara Agra Timber (BAT), this company did not carry out its obligations, namely protecting and securing forests in the location of its permit.
He added that his agency had submitted recommendations and proposed the revocation of permits for PT Bentara Agra Timber (BAT) because this company did not carry out its obligations, namely protecting and securing forests within the location of its permit.
