Bareskrim Arrests 2 TIP Suspects 20 Indonesian Citizens To Myanmar

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has arrested two suspects in the case of a criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) who sent 20 Indonesian citizens (WNI) to Myanmar. The two of them were arrested in the Bekasi area, West Java.

"That the suspects Anita Setia Dewi and Andri Satria Nugraha have been arrested," said Director of General Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro in his statement, Wednesday, May 10.

The perpetrator was arrested in an apartment unit in Bekasi, West Java, Tuesday, May 9, evening.

With the arrest of the two suspects, investigators will immediately develop it. The first step taken by searching their residence is to find evidence.

Meanwhile, the two suspects lived in different residences. For Andri Satria Nugraha in the Medan Satria area, Bekasi. Meanwhile, Anita Setia Dewi at the Springlake Sumarecon tower Basela Apartment.

"The suspect is being developed to look for evidence at the suspect's residence," said Djuhandhani.

Anita Setia Dewi and Andri Satria Nugraha have been named as suspects based on the results of the case title. They are suspected of playing a role in finding someone to be used as an illegal Indonesian (TKI) worker.

In this case, both of them were charged with Article 4 of Law (UU) Number 21 of 2007 concerning TIP and/or Article 81 of Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).
