COVID-19 Update As Of May 4th: 2,417 New Cases, 16,953 Active Cases
JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 30,101 specimens were examined with the results of 2,417 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,782,048 people and active cases have increased by 1,246 to 16,953 cases," said COVID-19 Task Force data, Thursday, May 4.
Today's recovered cases increased by 1,139 people, bringing the total to 6,603,711 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 32 cases and a total of 161,384 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 785 cases and a total of 1,559,853 cases. Followed by West Java with 483 new cases with a total of 1,245,929 cases. East Java 348 new cases and a total of 643,962 cases. Central Java 228 new cases and a total of 659,499 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 396 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 248 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 223 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 91 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 116,492,356.
"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 10.68 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 2,128 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 203,834,123 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,875,446 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 68,758,788 and the fourth dose was 3,149,024. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
