Shin Tae Yong Signals To Get Contract Extension From PSSI

JAKARTA The coach of the Indonesian national team Shin Tae Yong gave a signal that he would receive a contract extension from the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI).

The signal was delivered by the South Korean tactician in a recent upload on Instagram on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

The upload showed Shin's meeting with PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir some time ago. The meeting was held for contract negotiations.

"I'm very happy to be able to talk with Ketum Erick Thohir about his vision for football in Indonesia. Let's do it," Shin wrote in the caption of the upload.

This signal immediately received mixed responses from followers of the 52-year-old tactician. The majority of them support Shin Tae Yong being offered a new contract.

"It looks like the contract has been dealt with, just waiting for the right moment to be announced. Maybe on FIFA Matchday," wrote one netizen.

"Hopefully in the future it will be the best of the previous good. Thank you coach Shin for always loving the Indonesian national team sincerely," another commented.

Shin Tae Yong's contract with the Indonesian national team expires in December this year. Many parties have started urging PSSI to hand over new contracts for Shin Tae Yong.

Shin's future is not yet clear, it is possible for the Korean coach to take care of the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup which will take place in early 2024.

Shin Tae-yong was previously appointed specifically to accompany the Indonesian U-20 national team at the 2023 U-20 World Cup. However, the cancellation of Indonesia as the host of the event made Shin's future even more mysterious.
