The M 3.1 Earthquake Rocked North Sumatra's Tapanuli, Centered On Land

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 3.1 hit North Tapanuli, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

Quoting the website of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, the earthquake occurred on Wednesday 15 March at 12.50.34 WIB.

The Lindu coordinates are 2.07 North Latitude-99.01 East Longitude with the center being on land 8 km northeast of North Tapanuli.

This earthquake was felt on a scale of MMI III-IV to Tarutung.

BMKG warned of the potential for aftershocks that could occur. Therefore, people affected by the earthquake are asked to be vigilant.
