Being Sarcastic on Vladimir Putin’s Speech, President Zelensky's Adviser: Russia is at an impasse
JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech to Russia's political and military elites on Tuesday shows he has lost touch with reality, said a senior aide to the President of Ukraine.
In his speech, President Putin said he would continue Russia's year-long war in Ukraine, accusing the NATO alliance led by the United States (US) of fanning the flames of conflict in the mistaken belief that it could defeat Moscow in a global confrontation.
"He is in a completely different reality, where there is no opportunity for dialogue on justice and international law," Mykhailo Podolyak, political adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, told Reuters as reported on February 21.
"Russia is at an impasse. In the most desperate of situations. Everything Russia will do next will only exacerbate the situation," he continued.
Podolyak said Putin's display of confusion and lack of understanding of the situation would cause Russia more difficulties in the near future.
"This means chaos both on the battlefield and within Russia will increase," he explained.
