No Officer In Police Post? This Is South Jakarta Police Chief's Explanation Where To Report
SOUTH JAKARTA - South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi emphasized that residents can still make reports even though the nearest police post (pospol) is empty or there is no officer.
Ade said reports could be filed by calling the telephone number listed on the empty police post. According to him, each police post has the contact number of the head of the police post or the member on duty so they can be contacted.
"This means that when the police post is empty, we can still carry out service activities," Ade said in Jakarta, Sunday, February 5, as reported by Antara.
This assertion was in response to a complaint by the head of the Rukun Warga (RW) at an RW meeting in South Jakarta, who said that the police post in his area did not have police officers after the commander retired, making it difficult to report.
Ade himself also admits that the police post in his area is often empty because there are only one to two officers on guard and often these officers are on patrol so the post is empty.
"So, at the Police Post or Polsub Sector, there are only one or two members. This officer is not only 'stand by', but he is 'mobile'. With existing personnel, they are 'mobile' and 'stand by' too," he said.
Previously, an RW head named Hendrawan complained about the condition of the Polsubsector Office in the Taman Pesona Indah area, South Jakarta, which had been empty for three months to Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fadil Imran at a meeting of RW heads throughout South Jakarta, Sunday 5 February.

Hendrawan revealed that he had served as the Head of the RW for twenty years, so he knew very well the ins and outs of the Polsubsector Office in his area.
In the past, when it was still a pospol or police post, he said, there could be six to seven people in the room plus a commander with the rank of Iptu, namely Iptu Eko.
However, after being upgraded to the Polsubsector Office, what is visible is only the commander who now has the rank of Adjunct Police Commissioner (AKP).
However, now that the Head of the Subsector has retired, the situation at the Pesona Indah South Jakarta Polsubsector Office has changed drastically, namely it has been closed.
"Three months ago, the head of the sub-sector retired and there were no people. It was closed. Incidentally the police office and the RW office were next to each other. There were no police, the office was closed then there were no people," said Hendrawan.
Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Fadil Imran immediately responded and admitted that he would immediately appoint members to fill the vacant position. "Okay, thank you sir, I'll fill it in right away, I'll fill it in tomorrow," he said.
