Anton Gobay, A Papuan KKB Sympathizer Who Bought Weapons In The Philippines, Middle of Session
JAKARTA - Anton Gobay, a resident and KKB Papua sympathizer was arrested by the Philippine Police over the sale of firearms without a permit. Anton Gobay got the firearm by buying it from someone in the Danao City area, Cebu Province, Philippines. The evidence seized by the Philippine authorities included 10 Colt AR-15s, 1 Para 9mm rifle, 20 magazines, and ten rifle butts.
Kadiv Hubinter Polri, Inspector General Krishna Murti said that his party had sent a team to go to the Philippines to deal with the case.
"The team has left for the Philippines and has returned, has presented the results", Inspector General Krishna told reporters in East Jakarta, Thursday, January 26.
After conducting an investigation, Anton Gobay is already in the process of trial in the Philippines for this case.
"From the results of the investigation concerned, it is now under trial by the Philippine authorities", he said.
Inspector General Krishna explained, from the results of the interim statement, the weapons were planned to be smuggled to Papua.

He further said that the arrest was the result of cooperation between the Police and the Philippines.
"This is not the first time we have cooperated with the Philippines, this is the second time the Philippines has been arrested with the information we provided. Because the person concerned committed a crime abroad, we respect the rules in the Philippines", he said.
