Menpora Behind His Desire To Be Deputy Chairman Of PSSI
JAKARTA - The PSSI Election Commission (KP) has provided the latest information regarding the 2023-2027 PSSI Executive Committee nomination market.
KP said that there was one potential deputy chairperson candidate as well as 13 exco members who were given until January 21 to complete the documents.
The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali believes that one name is not him. He claimed that the files for the 2023-2027 PSSI vice chairperson candidates that he submitted to KP were complete.
"It's complete, nothing is missing. I already said I wouldn't dare to run for office if the requirements weren't complete. It's safe," said the Menpora, as quoted by Antara.
Menpora Zainudin Amali himself is quite optimistic that he can go through all the stages to enter the final list of candidates who will compete at the PSSI Extraordinary Congress on February 16, 2023.
Even though based on the PSSI Statute, the Menpora did not meet the requirements. One of the rules that must be met to run as a PSSI Exco candidate is that they must have been active for five years in Indonesian football before running for office.
This is stated in the 2019 PSSI Statute. Article 38 paragraph 4 reads that Executive Committee Members must be over 30 (thirty) years old, they must have been active in football within the PSSI corridor for at least 5 (five) years, and must meet the requirements specified in this PSSI Statute.
So why is the Menpora so keen to advance as part of the PSSI management even though there are things that could be an obstacle?
The 2023 U-20 World Cup is one of the factors. He stated that preparations for the 2023 U-20 World Cup would go smoother if he was elected as the 2023-2027 PSSI Waketum.
"Yes, it will go smoother (preparations for the U-20 World Cup if he becomes vice chairman of PSSI-ed)," he said.
According to the Menpora, in preparation for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, it was PSSI's task that had the most complicated challenges. For that, he wants to enter the PSSI.
"The heavy one is LOC and LOC is PSSI," said Zainudin Amali.
However, Menpora does not want to speculate. "Later only when elected," said Menpora.
