Removing The Brown And Green Uniforms, National Police Chief And TNI Commander Become Puppets In 'Pandawa Boyong'
JAKARTA - TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the entire TNI Chief of Staff, for the first time, participated in or appeared in a puppet show themed 'Pandawa Boyong' at the Jakarta Theatre, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, Sunday night, January 15th.
"Implementation of a wayang orang performance with the play Pandawa Boyong. This performance is extraordinary. Because the players include the Chief of Police, me (Commander of the TNI), KSAD, KSAL, and KSAU," said Yudo, as quoted from Antara, Sunday, January 15.
Yudo explained, this wayang orang performance was also a combination of Indonesian cultural preservationists. Among them are, Barata and the Indonesian Heritage Warriors Cultural Center, with around 400 players.
Related to this, Yudo said that holding this wayang orang performance was also to take part in caring for and preserving Indonesian original culture, one of which was wayang orang. At the same time, said Yudo, this activity is a form and proof of the realization of synergy between the TNI, Polri, and all elements of society.
"So that with this performance, we hope that all the people who watch it will be entertained and also be able to preserve the original Indonesian culture, wayang orang," said Yudo.

On the same occasion, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, recounted how he was initially asked to be involved in the wayang orang performance. At that time, Sigit admitted that he received an invitation to join in the cultural arts performance by the TNI Commander.
Sigit also appreciated the holding of the wayang orang performance with the theme 'Pandawa Boyong'. Therefore, Sigit also invited several Polri personnel to join in the activity.
"Some time ago I received an invitation from him (the TNI Commander) to join in the preparation for the wayang orang performance which was held with the theme 'Pandawa Boyong'. Of course, we really appreciate the Commander-in-Chief's invitation. Because of that, we also invited several Polri personnel to participate in the wayang orang performance," said Sigit.
Deeper, Sigit emphasized, this wayang orang performance further proves and strengthens the synergy and solidity of the TNI-Polri in maintaining the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
"This is also of course to further increase the synergy and solidity of the TNI-Polri. And I think today, the performance was extraordinary because the Commander in Chief, the National Police Chief, all the Chiefs of Staff, and fellow high-ranking officers from all forces joined. This is something very extraordinary," said Sigit.
According to Sigit, with this cultural arts performance, there are many philosophical meanings that can be learned to be implemented. Starting from noble values, chivalry, to the spirit of leadership.
"Of course, hopefully, this TNI-Polri synergy can really strengthen policy programs from the State from the Government in the framework of guarding, supporting and prospering and building a better and prosperous Indonesia," said Sigit.
In this wayang orang performance, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono will play the role of Bima Sena. Meanwhile, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo played the role of Prabu Puntadewa.
Meanwhile, KSAD General Dudung Abdurachman will play Batara Guru, KSAL Admiral Muhammad Ali will play Batara Baruna, and KSAU Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo will play Eyang Abiyasa.
