Chasing a Drunk Man, Police in West Sumba NTT Seriously Injured by a Colleague's Gun Shot
NTT - A police officer was shot by his own colleague while chasing a drunken man in Southwest Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Both are members of the East Wewewa Sector Police.
Head of Public Relations for the NTT Regional Police, Regional Police Commissioner Ariasandy, said the policeman who was shot was Adjunct Police Inspector Two Benyamin Anamesa. The victim suffered a serious gunshot wound to the back of the waist.
"So, the shot came from a firearm belonging to Aipda BBA who was a colleague of the victim when the two were in the same car", he confirmed in Kupang, NTT on Wednesday, December 14, confiscated by Antara.
Ariasandy said that this incident began when the two of them received reports from residents regarding the disturbing actions of unknown people who were drunk due to consuming liquor.
The two then headed to the reported location. However, upon arrival at the location, the unknown person had already fled.
The unidentified person fled in a vehicle that was being chased by the police. When they arrived in front of Kanelu High School, the two police officers saw the unknown person throwing stones at a passing vehicle.

The two policemen then got into the car to give chase. When the car was moving, Aipda BBA opened the magazine because he wanted to empty the weapon.
"After the magazine was released, Aipda BBA pulled the trigger and at that moment the weapon erupted and the shot hit the victim in the waist", said the Head of Public Relations.
He said that until now Aipda Benyamin Anamesa was still being treated by doctors at the Waikabubak Hospital, West Sumba Regency.
"The doctor at the Waikabubak Hospital was treated with a projectile X-ray, but it was not visible, so he was referred to the Waingapu Hospital, East Sumba Regency", said Ariasandy.
However, because the wound was serious and needed further treatment, the victim was referred to the Umbu Rarameha Waingapu Hospital, East Sumba Regency.
"It is planned that the victim will be referred to Denpasar, Bali again", he added.
Meanwhile, Aipda BBA is currently undergoing examination by Southwest Sumba Regional Police Propam officers.
