Memorable G20 Bali Summit, Mahfud MD Says India Will Join Indonesia in Making Mangrove Reforestation Program
JAKARTA - India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was impressed with the implementation of the 2022 Bali G20 Summit. He was also impressed with Indonesia's program to reforest mangrove forests for the sake of environmental sustainability.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD when he met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mahfud admitted that his meeting took place after he became a seminar speaker, one of which discussed anti-extremism in New Delhi, India on Tuesday, November 29.
"In particular, PM Modi also expressed his admiration for the successful implementation of Indonesia's leadership in the G20 and the mangrove forest reforestation program he visited while in Bali some time ago", said Mahfud on his Instagram account, @mohmahfudmd, Wednesday, November 30.
To Mahfud, the Prime Minister of India admitted that he was moved to carry out the same idea of preserving the environment in his country. "That inspired PM Modi to do the same in India", he added.

Mahfud's visit to India was in the context of becoming a speaker at a seminar on preventing radicalism to create inter-religious harmony.
"We unified the perception of the importance of coexistence and harmony between religions, including rejecting extremism. We also met with the National Security Adviser and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, discussing strategic matters for cooperation between the two countries in the future", said Mahfud.
In India, Mahfud also took the time to meet with representatives of Indonesian Citizens (WNI) in New Delhi.
Mahfud had dialogues with Indonesian citizens consisting of students, lecturers who teach at universities in Delhi, to workers in international organizations at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in New Delhi.
