Telkomsel Wins 2.1 GHz Frequency Band, What Do You Want To Do?

JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate has determined PT Telekomunikasi Selular as the Winner of the Selection for Users of the 2.1 GHz Radio Frequency Band for Operating Cellular Mobile Networks in 2022.

President Director of Telkomsel Hendri Mulya Syam said that he would utilize the 2.1 GHz radio frequency band to strengthen and develop 4G/LTE services and 5G networks.

"Telkomsel will optimize the addition of the spectrum to increase the capacity and quality of mobile cellular networks, encourage the acceleration of the deployment of 4G/LTE infrastructure with the widest coverage to the Frontier, Outermost and Disadvantaged (3T) areas, as well as expanding the coverage of 5G network technology gradually and measurably according to customer needs," said Hendri in a statement received by VOI, Friday, November 4.

Hendri added, with the addition of the 2.1 GHz frequency band, Telkomsel will continue to strive to increase people's needs in enjoying the latest technology broadband services.

With the stipulation of Telkomsel as the winner of the Selection of 2.1 GHz Radio Frequency Band Users in the 1975–1980 MHz Range, the composition of the frequency license allocation owned by Telkomsel is as follows:

1. Frequency of 2.3 GHz with a bandwidth of 50 MHz which is divided into 30 MHz with allocation for national use and 20 MHz with allocation for use based on zone/non-national.

2. The frequency is 2.1 GHz with a bandwidth of 20 MHz.

3. The frequency is 1.8 GHz with a bandwidth of 22.5 MHz.

4. The frequency is 800/900 MHz with a bandwidth of 15 MHz, of which the 2.1 GHz and 1.8 GHz bands are also 800/900 MHz for the allocation of national use.

"The addition of this frequency spectrum will strengthen the foundation for the development of the product, service, and digital business innovations that Telkomsel continues to build so far," said Hendri.
