Big Advertisers' Reactions On Twitter After Elon Musk Acquisition
JAKARTA – Advertisers are now grappling with the new ownership of Twitter under Tesla boss Elon Musk, who once tweeted "I hate ads".
There are various reactions stating that the statement has hurt advertisers and they are now pulling their ads from the microblogging platform.
Here are reactions from some of the advertising companies on Twitter that are starting to pull out:
Ford Motor Co
A Ford spokesperson told CNBC that the automaker doesn't currently advertise on Twitter and hadn't done so prior to a deal with Musk.
General Motors Co
The biggest US automaker temporarily suspended paid advertising on Twitter after Musk completed his takeover of the social media company. The Detroit automaker said it was still engaging with Twitter to understand the direction of the platform under their new ownership.
Havas Media Group
As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Havas Media Group, Vivendi's advertising unit, recommended that its clients temporarily stop their Twitter ads in the US due to concerns about the company's ability to monitor its content.
The Interpublic Group of Companies Inc
The Wall Street Journal also reported that the global advertising and marketing services company recommended that its clients temporarily stop their advertising on Twitter.
L'Oreal SA
The cosmetics maker said it was not suspending advertising spending on Twitter, contradicting a Nov. 2 Financial Times report citing a source familiar with the matter.

Luxury carmaker Audi of America said on Thursday, November 3 that it had stopped paid advertising on Twitter. They are the latest company to do so after the social media platform was acquired by billionaire Elon Musk.
