Free Papuan Activist Filep Karma Allegedly Died, Police Contact Family
JAKARTA - Free Papua activist, Filep Karma, is suspected of having died based on the discovery of a body at Base G Beach, Jayapura.
Based on the Antara report, the body of the alleged man born in Biak Papua was found on Tuesday morning, November 1, at around 07.00 WIT.
North Jayapura Police Chief Akp Yahya Rumra said that currently, the relevant authorities are in contact with the family.
According to him, confirmation is needed to confirm related to the bodies found.
Filep Karma is known to be involved in the Papua liberation movement. He raised the issue of the separation of Papua from Indonesia since the transition of the government of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia Suharto.
