COVID-19 Update As of October 20: New Cases 2,307, Active Cases 18,919
JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 62,468 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 2,307 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,464,962 people and active cases have increased by 415 to 18,919 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Thursday, October 20.
Today's recovered cases increased by 1,873 people, bringing the total to 6,287,663 people recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 19 cases and the total was 158,381 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 789 cases and a total of 1,438,112 cases. Followed by West Java which has 348 new cases with a total of 1,185,362 cases. East Java has 308 new cases and a total of 609,326 cases. Central Java has 167 new cases and a total of 340,212 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 900 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 237 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 236 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 165 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,870,244.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 6.25 percent", it wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,863 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
