Sending A Team Of Doctors To Meet Lukas Enembe, Firli Bahuri: Assist Suspect's Recovery And Treatment
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the visit of an independent team to Jayapura Papua was aimed at helping address health problems faced by the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe. Luke is expected to receive appropriate medical treatment.
"We will visit to find out the health of the suspect LE to help recover the health and treat the suspect LE," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to reporters, Wednesday, October 19.
Firli said the medical examination by an independent team consisting of doctors from the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) and members of the KPK on Lukas Enembe would be in accordance with applicable laws. He ensured that his institution would uphold the human rights of anyone, including Lukas Enembe, who was a suspect.

Previously, the KPK said it would soon form a team that would be dispatched to Jayapura, Papua to check on Lukas Enembe's condition. The team will be filled by an independent team of doctors.
Meanwhile, the attorney for the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Roy Rening ensured that an independent team from IDI would examine his client in Jayapura. He even claimed that KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri would go there.
Roy received information that Firli would go to Jayapura from the Director of KPK Enforcement, Asep Guntur Rahayu. However, it was not specified when the team would depart.
For information, Luke has been named a suspect by the KPK. However, the case against him has not been detailed.
Lukas will actually be questioned on Monday, September 26 at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. However, the examination was not carried out because Lukas claimed to be sick and could not provide information.
Furthermore, the KPK will again make calls that have not been informed for sure. Lukas was asked to cooperate in fulfilling the summons of the KPK investigators because his statement was needed to make clear the allegations of corruption that occurred.
