Epic Games and Autodesk Collaboration Will Create Industry-wide Immersive Real-Time Design
JAKARTA - Epic Games announced its strategic collaboration with Autodesk, to accelerate industry-wide immersive real-time 3D experiences.
The video game development and publishing company said that the collaboration will have an initial focus on architecture, engineering and construction (AEC).
Epic Games' strategic collaboration with Autodesk aims to make immersive environments and collaborative workflows accessible to designers, engineers, and construction professionals, so they can deliver more innovative projects in less time.
The first integrated offering is Twinmotion Epic Games for Autodesk Revit, which will help designers bring their projects to life and tell the story behind their intentions or to communicate complex issues in simple terms.
"The integration between Autodesk Revit and Twinmotion promises to deliver a truly seamless real-time 3D experience for design professionals," said Marc Petit, Epic Games Vice President, Unreal Engine Ecosystem.
Revit will be used to design, document, and deliver building and infrastructure projects, while Twinmotion will complete the process by tracking real-time design and build rendering efforts.
“Together with Epic Games, we will expand an immersive environment, allowing designers to be able to communicate with project teams and their clients directly,” explained EVP Autodesk AEC Design, Amy Bunszel.

Epic has worked with Autodesk since 2008, when Autodesk joined the Epic Games Integrated Partners Program, which enables the integration of Autodesk's 3D design software with Epic's Unreal Engine.
In 2021, Epic and Autodesk are collaborating to offer the new Unreal Live Link for Maya plugin, enabling media and entertainment (M&E) creators to stream data from Maya to Unreal in real time.
Going forward, both companies aim to develop experiences for customers outside the AEC industry, including M&E and manufacturing, that deliver real-time content creation value.
