Uncertain Responses Of Democrats And PKS When NasDem Announces Coalition Declaration On November 10

JAKARTA - The plan for an official announcement of the NasDem, Democrat, and PKS coalition is still 'gray'. Although NasDem has stated the date of the declaration, the Democrats and PKS have not definitively agreed.

NasDem through its General Treasurer, Ahmad Sahroni, revealed the declaration of his party's coalition with Democrats and PKS to be held on 10 November.

"Coalition, yes, on November 10, that is," said Sahroni when met in the South Jakarta area, Monday, November 26.

On that occasion, NasDem even planned to announce a presidential candidate (candidate) that will be carried in the 2024 presidential election. Who is the candidate, Sahroni was reluctant to reveal further.

Sahroni asked everyone to be patient in waiting for the declaration to coincide with Hero's Day. According to him, it is the chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, who will immediately announce who the party's champion presidential candidate is.

Responding to the planned announcement of the official coalition from NasDem, the Democrats have yet to confirm the date. Deputy Secretary General of the DPP Democratic Party Didik Mukrianto said his party together with NasDem and PKS was still intensifying communication in seeking common ground for a coalition.

"Democrats are currently intensely communicating with NasDem and PKS. Hopefully, in the days to come, communication will become more important," said Didik, Wednesday, September 28.

Didik said, there is still a lot that needs to be harmonized with fellow political parties as candidates for the coalition. "Our hope from the Democrats is that we also want to build a civilization to strengthen this nation's previous civilization," he added.

According to him, it is not only related to who the presidential candidate will be, but also the basis of the struggle, energy, and enthusiasm between parties that will be members of the coalition.

"Well, we want to ensure that these changes and improvements occur in this nation in the future," said Didik.

This member of Commission III of the House of Representatives said that the public will definitely wait for the presidential candidates who will run in the 2024 presidential election to find out their program and ability to lead Indonesia in the future.

Therefore, the Democrats are still communicating with NasDem and PKS in order to find common ground in building a coalition.

"These three parties can find a common ground in building games. Because I said earlier, this is not just setting a presidential or vice presidential candidate, but this big game of 2024 in the presidential candidate. This is also related to the interests of the nation and also the interests of the people," said Didik.

In line with the Democrats, PKS said an official announcement of the coalition would be made if the time was deemed right.

PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Al Habsyi admitted that there had not been a meeting point between his party and NasDem and Democrats. However, he made sure everything had been conveyed properly, it was just a matter of how the momentum would be.

"Everything has been discussed well. We'll just have to see at the moment," said Aboe, Wednesday, September 28.

Aboe said that PKS is currently still relaxed about the 2024 presidential election coalition. So far, Aboe said, the relationship between PKS and NasDem and Democrats is still good and well maintained. He said the exploration would continue until they met at a clear point.

"We are maintaining relations, exploring everything we can do until we find a clear meeting point. (Regarding the coalition) Wait for the time, if PKS, just relax," said Aboe.

Aboe added, in addition to good relations with NasDem and Democrats, PKS also does not rule out opening communication with other parties, one of which is Golkar.

"As long as it's not resolved, we can still explore it with all parties," said Aboe.
