BMKG Predicts Rain In West Java, Banten And Kalimantan Islands Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned the public to be aware of the potential for heavy rain that could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in a number of provinces on Wednesday, September 21.

"People who live and work on the coast around areas that are prone to high waves are requested to always be vigilant," said Head of the BMKG Maritime Meteorology Center Eko Prasetyo, as reported by Antara.

Eko revealed that the wind pattern in the northern part of Indonesia is dominantly moving from Southeast-Southwest with wind speeds ranging from 5-20 knots.

Meanwhile, in the southern part of Indonesia, the dominant movement is from East-Southeast with wind speeds ranging from 5-20 knots.

The highest wind speeds were observed in the North Natuna Sea, the southern waters of Banten-West Java, the South Indian Ocean of Banten, and the eastern part of the Arafuru Sea.
