Second Day of Operation to Search for Girl Drowning in Batang Merao River Jambi, SAR Team Uses Inflatable Boat
JAMBI - The joint SAR team is again searching for a 10-year-old girl who drowned in the Batang Merao River, Kerinci Regency, Jambi.
The head of the Jambi Basarnas, Kornelis, said that today's operation is the second day. The SAR team consists of Basarnas, TNI, Polri, BPBD Kerinci, Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana), and the community.
"The search was carried out by sweeping using a rubber boat approximately two kilometers from the scene," he explained in Jambi, Antara, Friday, September 16.
On the first day, the search was temporarily suspended because it was already night and the lighting equipment to search was inadequate.
The incident of the drowning girl began when the victim and her friends were playing in the Batang Merao River on Thursday at around 16.50 WIB.
After receiving reports from his family that his son was missing or drowned in the river, the Jambi Basarnas communication officer dispatched a SAR team to help find her.
The SAR team went straight to the Batang Merao River, Koto Lanang Village, Depatu Tujuh, Kerinci Regency to help find a 10-year-old girl with the initials A who was playing in the Batang Merao River with four of her friends.

After we received this information, at 17.00 WIB, the Kerinci SAR Post Team went to the location using a D Max Box rescue car carrying water rescue equipment and a rubber boat and immediately searched using a rubber boat with the Joint SAR Team.
