Russia Targets The Creation Of The Advanced Electronic Industry By 2030 To Catch Up With The West
JAKARTA – The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade targets that by 2030, they will create an electronic engineering industry from the downstream and abandon dependence on foreign architecture when designing modern electronic devices.
Severe dependence on foreign technology, low investment attractiveness, and acute staff shortages are just some of the challenges facing the Russian electronics industry today. This is stated in a draft Russian government document reported by the daily Kommersant.
The document, prepared by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, has recognized the main problems facing the Russian microelectronics industry. They are also now proposing increasing production capacity, as well as expanding research and engineering to start development.
Kommersant on Tuesday, September 13, citing unnamed sources as saying that this draft document was prepared under the supervision of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Vasily Shpak, and sent to other government departments for approval last week.

The unprecedented Western sanctions against Moscow for its actions in Ukraine, and the departure of many technology companies from the Russian market, have become a major problem and severely disrupt Russia's access to technology imports. This includes the issue of components that are critical to the military and its energy sector.
Other problems, as cited by Kommersant from the industry ministry document, include "technology that lags 10-15 years behind global levels" and "high costs of component production in Russia."
This could be the beginning of the revival of Russia's digital technology, which has lost or lags far behind its western rivals, even its own partners such as China. With a clearer road map, Russia certainly hopes to catch up with them. The last hope is that they want to become a developed and independent country in providing digital technology.
