Carlo Ancelotti Anxiously Awaits Karim Benzema's Knee Injury Medical Report
JAKARTA - Real Madrid's victory in the first match of Group F of the 2022/2023 Champions League against Celtic took a toll.
Real Madrid had to lose Karim Benzema who suffered a knee injury. Currently, Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is anxiously waiting for the medical report of his flagship player.
In the match at Celtic Park Stadium which Madrid won, Benzema only played for 30 minutes. He had problems with his knee and was eventually pulled out.
His position was replaced by Eden Hazard who managed to contribute one goal and one assist.
At first Carlo Ancelotti tried to calm down in response to the situation experienced by Benzema. However, the situation is different now.
"It doesn't seem worrying. We will have to wait tomorrow for the test," Ancelotti said in his post-match press conference quoted by ESPN.
"The first evaluation didn't seem too serious, but we have to wait for the results and that makes me feel anxious too," continued Ancelotti.

Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, is also waiting for news about Benzema's condition. He hopes the captain has only suffered a minor injury and will not cause a major impact on his future performances.
"We'll see, hopefully not serious. If serious, there are other players who can replace him," explained Courtois.
Karim Benzema has been an important figure in Real Madrid's success in recent seasons. Especially last season.
This is because the 34-year-old striker has performed very well not only in domestic football but also in European-class competitions such as the Champions League.
At that time Karim Benzema managed to score 44 goals and 15 assists in 46 games for Real Madrid in all competitions.
The incision made him advance as a candidate for the player who was championed to win the prestigious Ballon d'Or trophy this year. In addition, Benzema was also officially named the best European player for 2021/2022 by UEFA at the end of last August.
