5.3 Magnitude Earthquake In South Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi, Was Felt Up To Kotamobagu
SULUT - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 occurred in South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi), Thursday, September 8 in the morning.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) through its official website informed that the earthquake occurred at 01.11 WIB.
The location of the earthquake was at 0.01 north latitude-123.80 east longitude with a depth of 138 kilometers.
While the epicenter of the earthquake was 47 kilometers southwest of South Bolaang Mongondow.
Based on the Antara report, the tremor was felt as far as Kotamobagu on a scale of II Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI).
The Mercalli scale is one of the units for measuring the strength of an earthquake, especially if there is no seismometer equipment at the scene.
